Mike Tyson says Conor McGregor ‘will look ridiculous’ boxing Floyd Mayweather

Mike Tyson believes Floyd Mayweather will coast to victory.

Former heavyweight world boxing champion Mike Tyson says Conor McGregor will embarrass himself if the UFC star engages Floyd Mayweather in a boxing match this year.

“Conor McGregor is going to look really ridiculous boxing [Floyd Mayweather],” Tyson said on Sirius XM Sports radio.

“But if he goes in there with the UFC stuff [mixed martial arts], then it could be pretty interesting.”

Negotiations for the highly-anticipated McGregor vs Mayweather showdown hinge on the latter, as UFC president Dana White confirmed in May that McGregor had already agreed his terms for a fight with Floyd Mayweather.

Speaking to reporters in London after McGregor had signed his terms, Mayweather reaffirmed his desire to fight McGregor as it was the fight “that fans want to see” and would “do record-breaking numbers.“

Though UFC legend Georges St-Pierre believes McGregor wants to lure Mayweather into a “cage-fight”, the bout currently being planned will only take place in a boxing ring.

When Mike Tyson was reminded of this on Sirius radio he was not confident in the Irishman’s chances. “McGregor does not win in a boxing match.”
